Mentor & Studio Introduction Posted on 2016-06-15 by Jonathan Pascone

Yesterday afternoon I got introduced to both my mentor, Mike Gardner, and the Studio I will be working at (Recording Studio of Albany). As compared to many other studios I have worked and explored in, this studio seems to be the best fit for my endeavors. Strangely enough, and even to my suprise, this was not because of anything overly expensive, special, or huge; but much rather passion. I have found that the owners and engineers love what they do and are prepared to have me engrossed in the studio, as my mentor has used the anology of 'becoming a sponge'. After some scheduling and some details, we didn't take long to have quite a few laughs; I am very comfortable here. I look forward to taking advantege of many of the oppertunities Mike has laid down for me as well. Such as; doing my assignments and reading in the studio, or asking the engineers as many questions as I need (after the session or at an appropriate time). By being in the studio and getting a knack for the gear and the IOS of the studio in general, I feel as though I am going to excel much more thoroghly and effeciantly as an engineer & technician.
