Today, my mentor and I went over my Chapter 6 quiz and throughout that process, I learned about things that are crucial to the music world. As we were going over my answers, we came to the accent miking answer and so he gave me information about what accent miking actually is. I picked up that accent miking is an important part of music to hear the true sound of an instrument, like a guitar. As we continued down the list, we talked a little bit about phase and that when someone talks in a microphone, you cannot hear the people in the background as much. For example, if someone was video chatting someone else who was sitting in lets say a coffee shop, the person at home cannot hear the people in the background even though he can see them because the sound is coming in and out of phase on a microphone. So far in this program, I have learned for myself that patterns are a crucial part of everyday life because they play a key role in music. For instance, like a drum loop, songs, a drum groove, each verse in songs, etc. So, today was another great day at the studio!
