Something about those old voices, those old souls just bursting out of these voices that BLOW YOUR MIND as to how they have such an enormous beauty in their singing. First mind blowing voice for me is Ray LaMontagne… who are you?! Listening to him is like I’ve just been through the most beautiful relationship of my life, had a heart wrenching break up, and every song is like the epic reunion; that’s just where my mind goes. Second; Gregory Alan Isakov, his voice makes me feel like I’m actually dying, not in a really creepy gothic way but in the way that I’m laying under a tree with the sun hitting my face and I’ve fully accepted the fact that I’m going to die and I’m happy about it… That sounds really bad when it’s not just me saying that in my head. Thirdly we have the real old voices, the voices that have so much soul it feels like you’ve just been through every blues club in the South. I’m talking the King of Soul Otis Redding, you cannot find those voices anymore! The real gritty vocals that just get so deep inside of you, you cant help but moan a little. I just get so happy when I hear one of these voices that my whole body goes still just so I can really absorb all of it and feel it in my soul, and this ladies and gentleman is what I like to call “the feels”.
