SXSW AUSTIN TEXAS Posted on 2016-03-20 by William Assama

As Artist, movie producers, Film makers and spectators, Came into town, The locals are enjoying their spring break, I did not plan on celebrating spring break just yet, Nick warned me of an early morning for Thursday the 17th, One of the busier days of SXSW. As the newer engineers Alec, helped me clean our live roomthe day before the interview to happening. Thanks to Alec and his positivity we finished fearly fast, and we were ready for the client to set up.
The morning of the set, Jordan (the Producer), Andrew (DP), Ben (AC) camera crew and also BJ ( the Gaffer) were scheduled a little later than Nick and I, around 7am they arrived completly ready. Jordan blessed the entire crew with donuts baggels, coffee and more. As I assisted them with their luxurius Video Camera. Their 1st main Focus was to set up Camera, Lights and the setting of the interview. In creative understanding, SyFy Is making a new Television show Called Hunters, Which It ties into Lots of interesting Music relation, therefore all of their lights and background had to look make the consumer feel as we were that morning in a recording studio.

As the setting was done a little earlier that planned, Eve (the interviewer), Alex (creative director) and Michael ( Producer) Also gave their two cents of the imagery of the set, we even added a Ribbon Microphone to ease the imagery of the setting, they had a few trix that enhanced the feeling of interview and made it very presentable yet vague background.

As the picture was almost to perfection, Heather ( sound Mixer) came to relate Audio and Visual. She was very hard working lady with high organization skills, apparently has been a proffessional mixer for more than 20 years. The only thing I could help her with was some water. As sound started to click, Jessica showed with her extensive hair and make up bag, she also knew her roll very well, and made the talent feel comfortable. As Andy Gray and Richard Frankel (the talent) showed they answered Eve's pleasent talk show and seemed very at ease in the setting, as both talents rushed on out to catch A few SXSW events that were on their agenda.

SXSW Week was a great week to learn for me

Thank you the recording connection ,Nick and Ryan
