Complete Review of Basic Recording Arts Posted on 2017-01-17 by Melvin Perdomo

Amazing first session with my mentor Steve Catizone, we covered a lot of ground just in the review of Basic Recording Arts. Steve is a great Mentor; he kept the class interesting and funny while remaining focused on the lesson.

It was more than I expected, we went over different subjects such as:

  • What is a Digital Audio Work Station (DAW)

  • Types of Microphones (which I really enjoyed since a did not have a complete knowledge in depth of all of the different types of Microphones and their functionalities)

  • Signal Flow/Patchbays  (One of my favorite topics)

  • Time codes and synchronization

  • MIDI

  • Harmonic and Sonic Repair (Very interesting)

  • Compressors and Gates

I also had the chance to meet other students and get to know them, definitely an awesome time in the studio.
