This chapter was very interesting. Many microphones have different builds and advantages in certain situations. While any microphone can be used for any purpose, a good engineer understands frequency response and the direction their microphones are to be picking up from.

Got in the studio for the first time and while not much was explained up front during the session (for the sake of professionalism with the client) watching Joe is helping me understand why he is making many of the decisions he is. I will see the most improvement when we actually get to mixing my personal compositions.
