I had my second session with my mentor today, and for the last week I have been learning all of the physics behind Sound and Hearing. I have to admit I didn't know what to expect or how nessacary it would be to know, I was actually astonished on how interesting it turned out to be. It was really interesting to learn how the human ear works compared to how a speaker works. In the shortest form they work almost identically just with different moving parts inside them. I was also instructed to watch a couple of videos on the history of hip hop/rap to get a way better understanding of the culture. Hip hop is more than just a genre of music to listen to, it's a huge community that started back in the 70's by African Americans. The culture and the history behind the music soon turned into a huge movement that included anything from Breakdancing, to Graffiti, to Djing, and rap. The community since that time has grown expectentially bigger than anyone could have imagined. Today the history of story telling in song has become the biggest mainstream community/genre in todays society. i'm extremely excited for what's to come within the following weeks with the recording connection and powerhouse studios!
