Lesson#: 3

Another great day but this time at the new studio! Its very nice inside and the main recording room has a floating floor which I find too be quite an interesting concept, that along with all room design in fact, the impact it has on sound is amazing. Also got too see my first mixing board! My mentor said its from the 70's, looks like thats going too be a tough one too tackle. After all that we sat down and she showed me how too record, along with some shortcuts in ProTools which of course are very convenient, makes the process a little quicker and easier too navigate through the program with the keyboard. For the second time now, the musician couldnt make it in so we did some recording of my mentor playing the keyboard, this was a blast! All the good takes and all the bad takes combined for a very interesting, and entertaining lesson!

Models/Manufacturers Introduced To:

Yamaha - Keyboard

I feel like I really got a lot out of this chapter, the more and more I read the better it gets its honestly great, I love the 1 on 1 training, especially because i have a good, knowledgable mentor, I really couldnt ask for more

Im excited too work on the mixing board, I feel like this will definately be a challenge, however the way my mentor broke it down, it sounds easier then it looks but i guess we will see! Also excited too give editing and mixing a shot, didnt get through the whole song, so finishing that recording may also be an exciting thing too do considering how it was in lesson 2. And last but not least when we get a musician in im sure that will be a busy day! Bring it on :)

Apart from that we watched a video comparing many different microphones too the same song, very interesting video, the differences in sound between all the many different brands/types are remarkable, so far this course has not stopped getting more interesting each and every chapter...
