Radio Spot Recording Posted on 2019-01-06 by Heriberto Diaz

Today I was able to see how voice actors would be recorded when they are not physically in the studio. The engineer was able to use a program that can connect the studio to the actors home studio through the phone. The program also allowed the engineer to add another line where the producer or writer of the spot would be able to make comments and notes. With this way of working it showed the versatility of certain programs and also because of the radio spot, it showed how important organization and timing is. The talent would be a little over the 30-second spot and would have to do it over again, which caused for multiple takes that had to be recorded. In the end, the clients would choose bits and pieces of each take and consolidate it to one. That is where the organization comes in, knowing what takes and what parts the client wants in the final edit.
