Today I saw VR sound design and mixing. In this project, they had trucks being assembled and then disassembled to show the different parts of each vehicle. The video was being made for facebooks VR. The engineer approached the project just as any other sound design project, but the mixing was where it changed. Panning is extremely important for VR, its job is to make the person feel like they are surrounded in the world of the video. There was a certain program used specifically VR so that it is easier to see where the sound design elements would be placed. Each element had to be specifically mixed to the side it would be at but also the depth.
