Chapter 7 "Tracking" Posted on 2016-11-13 by Bryan Tyler

This chapter was the most helpful out of all of the chapters that I had read so far. This chapter really explains what its like to set up your studio before you have a client come in. I agree that it is super important to set up your studio and have everything planned out and working ahead of time. You dont want your client walking into the studio ready to perform and you still are setting up. You would be wasting their time that they are paying for. If your client thinks that you are milking the clock most likely you will lose that client in the future or sooner. I also like how this chapter outlines where to place your musicians while they are recording so that they can see eachother. As a musician myself I always think there is nothing worse if you walk into a studio and try to record something and you cant see the other person playing, it throws you off. The only thing I wish that this chapter would have highlighted more was studio etiquitte. There is a certain way you should talk and conduct yourself around clients all of the time. You dont want to embaress yourself in front of a huge client that is paying big numbers in your studio.
