I think that when a client comes in to record, it is the engineers responsibility to keep everyone molded together. Im not saying it is his or her job to keep the band together but speaking in terms of (VIBE) or the feel of the environment, the engineer should keep everything happy but professional. Knowing what the band is after and knowing how to achine that certain sound will make everyone much happier. The happier your clients are the easier and more fun your job becomes.
