Oscar GalvanDallas Recording Connection

Under the weather Posted on 2014-11-07 by Oscar Galvan

This 3rd week, I felt a little under the weather so I wasn't at 100%, but I made do. It was something I ate that had me feeling so-so.

Of the 4 hours, John essentially dedicated about 1.5 of them to me with one-to-one lessons on how ProTools worked, what its interface looked like and how to operate it. We also went over the quizzes up to that point just to recap everything. I've had 100s on everything so it was all just review really.

After that an artist arrived followed by his 2nd vocalist some 40 minutes later. They were both recording vocals. I was now simply observing along with 2 other students. Though I wasn't paying complete attention since I didn't feel 100%, but I still followed where I could.

John mentioned to me that sometimes there are slow days and that on those slow days he could help me with my own music. This was great news to hear. So when i got home, I bounced a full track of mine into its 22 stem components from Logic so that he could use and mix it in Pro Tools the next week.

I'll write about how that went in the next week's blog.
