In this lesson the main topic discussed that I was interested in was Phase. Simple things like mics catching the same frequencies because they are roughly the same distance from the speaker will cancel each other out or make them sound hollow and thin. I feel like I always new that could happen, but never really cared so sometimes my guitar tracks would sound awful when applying two microphones to my speaker cabinet. Also learning how and why we perceive sound the way we do is very interesting. At the studio I was introduced to another engineer John, and an intern Johnny who are both very helpful and patient with me learning the ropes of World Famous Studios.
