3.17.13_3 to 5pm_Lesson 1

I am a little late with this post so ill make it quick. First off I was very anxious to get into a studio with professional equipment. Once I sat in front of that mixing console that urge turned into a flame of ambition that I feel could last a lifetime. I began the process of gaining an understanding of waveforms, velocity, pitch, amplitude, harmonics, sound intensity, reverberation, frequency, envelopes, phases, and many more elements of sound and hearing. We also touched on the basic function and features of Pro Tools along with a plugin called superior drummer. I also got a chance to do some hands on work, getting familiar with the Pro Tools workstation which I liked the most of course.

I was introduced to the Digidesign Control 24 mixing console along with a pair of JBL LSR4328 Active Monitor Speakers and a Dual Quad Core Mac Pro. I am very excited about this program because everything I need to not only perfect my craft but to gain the contacts I will need to start my career as a Producer/Engineer is all at my finger tips. The fact that all I have to do is work extra hard and stay persistent to get where I want to go in the next three years motivates me to no end! Working with Carl at Dub Media has been a really cool experience. I like the fact that its one on one every time, and the vibes of the  environment is really chill and laid back.

I am excited to start working with Pro Tools. I've never worked with this DAW just Logic Pro 9 and Ableton. I'll be learning something new every time I step into the studio and that is number one priority while interning at Dub Media. I think my biggest challenge will be finding the right sound for a certain project. So I focus on understanding harmonics, and frequency charts so I will be able to create that sweet blend effortlessly.
