This week was my third week working with Ryan Conway at Conway Sound. This week we talked a lot about digital audio and how things work in the studio. We reviewed the chapter on it, and he asked me if I had any further questions about it. He explained the chapter very well, so I didn't need to ask him anything else. He also explained to me how digital signal works and how the computer reads certain frequencies, and quantization error more in depth to me. After we were done reviewing the chapter, we worked some more on synth design in Massive, and he was showing me how to get a "pumping" bass using an LFO Tool. It seems as though the LFO Tool is much more simple instead of doing a sidechain compression, and that things seem to run a lot smoother that way. I showed him a couple of songs that use this sound and we talked about how to make it, and then did it. I'm very excited to get in the studio for my next lesson and see what I get to learn!
