This lesson was pretty simple and straightforward and not as complicated as I thought it might be lol. My takeaways were to pretty much keep the bass simple and smooth, and in most cases, longer notes are better than short choppy ones. The bass and kick drums go hand in hand. My mentor has me exploring all of the different basses and making a track for each one so I can become more familiar with how each one sounds and find my own sound among the bass family. He also walked through how sampling works and showed me how the different waveforms come into play when using samples to create new sounds.
