I normally disagree with the saying, "those who can't do, teach". Although, there is one instance where it really fits the bill: a team of studio engineers and/or staff could work together to adjust settings on outboard gear as the song is recording to tape; but, in the digital age, we could use software emulations and automation to reduce the workload and have a singe person at the helm of such a task. In effect, we (singlehandedly) cannot do, so we 'teach' the tracks to orchestrate varying plugin, volume, etc. settings, [much like the MIDI learn feature from last chaper] relying on a sort of programming or drawn set of directives. All this really speaks to my scientific tendencies, to get very in-depth on how it works in different digital audio workstations, and how others have used it with high resolution faders.
