Jonathan PaichHonolulu Recording Connection

A Very Quick Summary of Chapter 1 Posted on 2014-03-19 by Jonathan Paich

Well, Tomorrow I'm gonna try and meet with my instructor, Tony Hugar. So, I figured I should probably post something on this blog. I mean, my folks paid for all this stuff, might as well use it, I guess.

Anyway, I took the bus & tried to meet up with him once before, but my transfer never showed up & I got sick too. Needless to say, that day was fantastic... Besides that though, I've gone through ch.1 & got an A on my quiz. I'm pretty stoked about that. Also, I'm even more stoked to get my hands on the analog equipment Tony's got in his studio. With the type of music I want to make, I'd want it to be recorded on analog equipment. It has a sort of sonic character that I really enjoy hearing in other tracks I listen to, by other artists.

I'd be producing Electronic music, primarily. Although, "Electronic music" is such a  vague term, so I guess that doesn't really say what type of music I'd really be producing. Um, I guess I'd mess around with Electro, Techno, Chicago House, Lo-Fi, Hip Hop, etc... Whatever I feel like making at that moment, I suppose. That's pretty much what I've been doing on my laptop, so far. Like, I can make a pretty great track, but when it comes to the sonic technicalities, I'm terrible. Hence, me taking this whole course & what not.

Ummm... Who's gonna be reading these, by the way? I mean, I'll post these to Twitter & Facebook, so my friends/family can see, but who from the school will be able to see these? Well, I guess this'll be a test of whether or not anyone actually does read these posts. Also, uh, if somone from RRF does read this, please excuse any typos; I'm assuming there are typos...

Today I take my final & hopefully I can finish my mixing/mastering assignment from ch.19 tonight also. At the studio I'm at right now, Thuder Studios, I've learned a ton from Brian & Geoff... Read More >>
