This week my mentor did a test session with me. I setup all the mics and chose them.On the drums I used SM57 for the snare, Akg D112 for kick drum, Over heads used Neumann Km 184, Toms used sennheiser 421.On the bass used Akg D112 and direct out. On the Guitar used Stereo Sm57; and on the vocals used Manley Gold. I also patch everything and some of the gear i used was Avalon, Drawmer Channel strip, SSl cannel strip, SSL Stereo compressor, Chandler channel strip ,and Api preamps.I got to track everything from begining to end. Then my mentor mixed it showing me a lot of trick and tips to getting an excellent mix.
