3) Time out: 4:30pm
4) Lesson 4

My first question when i went into the studio today was, "why do i need patch bays?" Todd had me do this pain the butt exercise where I run a microphone thru a pre-amp, effects, converter, and finally compressor. Once i was done he said, "Ok, now instead take the effects off, and just run it straight", it was then when i understood how cool and helpful patch bays are. After all the cleaning up of cables, Jason took me into one of the Vocal suites and preceded to show me the way Barron Studios have the patch bays hooked up. At first i thought it was a lot to memorized with the simple setting of the patch bays such as , normalized, half normalized and parallel, but once i actually got to see them and get my hands on, i understood the wonderful stuff you can do without plugging and unplugging the backs, easier on all engineers and cool.
