the difference in compressors are based on subjective preference.To know what tools are available and what is needed to convey the message what is nessasary to make a sound sound good.Compression is one of those tools getting to know parameters are technical need to know's but also to know which compressor will give you the vibe or sound that is desired is a matter of experiementation.Compression changed my musical life and gained perspective now I dont mix without it sometimes even record without it
