Chapter One Assignment

I hope to gain the skills I need to network with individuals that can help me land jobs in the cinematography world. I also hope to learn some filming techniques from my mentor to help me refine what I already know.

Going back to school is a huge step for me. I already have a decent career in the corporate arena, and have worked on some videos here, but most of my work is reading lines of HTML code and updating a corporate website. I don't see myself retiring from this position. I'm going to use the Film Connection as a way to start over, and pursue the career I've always wanted, which is to work in the film/video industry.

I want to learn how to correctly light scenes and block shots. I already have some experience in this area, however I know I need to learn how to do it better. This will help me gain confidence in my work so I can network with professionals that can help me land jobs. 


My ultimate goal is to switch careers and become a videographer. I'll do this by becoming a sponge, absorbing all I can from my mentor and coursework so I can create engaging commercials and music videos.
