Week one [july 3rd&7th, 2017], i got to meet my mentor again (Luis Pacheco) for the first time since the interview. He showed me around The Hideout to make sure i know my surroundings so i wouldn't be lost, jokes on him though because i still got lost. Week one was a very interesting time, for most students it's a nervous or exciting time because they start schooling for something they love. For me it was exciting because i was finally persuing my dream of music but it was interesting because it would be my first time doing any schooling in over a year and a half, so it took some time to get the hang of things but luis understood this right away and he helped me with everything. During class we went through the introduction of the program and he introduced me into chapter one - Sounds & Hearing. We went through the chapter, he answered any questions and he told me what my assignment would be. After class he took me into the warehouse where we have all the mics, amps, cords and all the things we need to run the hideout. He handed me an XLR and told me that he'd teach me how to properly wrap them. After several bad attempts of wrapping cables, i started getting the hang of it. He walked me out of the hideout and told me my schedule. After Class i knew i was going to enjoy the next 19 weeks of the program.
