Week three [july 17th&21st] started off pretty good, review chapter 3, ask questions about previous chapter and asked questions about the soundboards we have at the hideout. The 17th was fairly normal so i expected the 21st to be normal as well. I went in that morning, worked on my mix assignment and chatted with luis. I thought it was fairly normal until luis told me that we'd be having a session today. He showed me how to set up the microphones and wrap the cables around the stand so it looks presentable. Shortly after set up, we got a notification that the client was here. Luis sent me to go get him & bring him to D room, i found him and i introduced myself and he introduced himself as well. His name is Manny G (artist name of course) he's originally from sacramento, california but he moved to vegas recently and the music he does is rap. So as a student, i showed my hospitality and asked him if he'd like a drink or anything. He asked for a water so i got it and after he took a sip, we got straight to work. I listened to him do his thing and i watched luis track it all. After completing 2 tracks, manny and i watched luis mix and master the tracks. The session was 2 hours long and it was amazing, i got to experience my first session which happened to be rap and the whole thing went smooth. After the session, we walked manny out and talked with him breifly. Since the session ended the same time as my class ended, i got to go home but before i did. I asked manny if i could take a picture with him and i told him he was my first session and he seemed pretty happy that he was. After the picture, we swapped information (we still keep in touch. i support the music he makes) talked a bit then i told him, i hope nothing but blessings for his career and he said the same to me. My first session was amazing and im so glad i got to experience it and make a friend while doing it.
