Yesterday, after making my last post, I went to the studio for a session with Randy. We prepped the room for two female singers. We put one in the isolation booth and one in the big room. They also used a midi keyboard, a drum machine, and a ukelele which all were on separate tracks. Randy gave me the reigns for this session. The girls weren't doing anything too seriously. They are friends of Randy and were just having fun. They recorded two original songs. We worked for a solid 4 hours on the tracks and while being exhausted, it was quite fun. I have been working with Pro Tools quite a bit since I got my copy through the program. It isn't too complicated. Ive enjoyed working with it although, any use of plugins makes my computer freeze unless I use audiosuite. Audiosuite is fine, but it doesn't include all of the plugins that are in the software. Only some. I need to look around on my computer and see if there are some processes I can end to free up some disc space. Im excited to get my MBox and try it out. Ive been using an Alesis 4 Channel USB mixer and I am pleased with the results. When telling Randy about a song that me and my friends, and fellow musicians, Kailey and Derek were planning to record he said we could do it in the studio as a project for me. Kailey and Derek are excited to work in an acutal studio. We've been working on a rough draft of the song in pro tools. I just need vocals from Kailey and it will be finished. But it will be much better when it's recorded in the studio with good mics and good equipment! That's all for now!
