I had 3 sessions this last week. On tuesday we did a few minor things and Randy gave me an old session that was originally recorded on ADAT to take home and mix myself. I've worked with it some. Then on the 15th, I engineered a session that included two female singers, a keyboard, and a drum machine. It was pretty simple once we got good headphone mixes and found drum grooves and midi sounds that they liked. They did some gospel songs. Then yesterday, the 16th, me and my friends, Derek and Kailey, recorded an original tune called Hold On. It was alot of fun. I had to engineer and also play guitar. Randy recorded me playing and Kailey singing at the same time and then I went into the control room and recorded Derek's bass and mixed it all. We originally were just going to use the drum machine to keep time but the groove we used was actually rather nice and we kept it. We could always throw it out later but I like it alot. I'm currently working on alot of things. I also just finalized a trap song and put it on youtube. I was very satisfied with the sound if I can get some folks to hear it. I already started another one. I'm working on The Seige for the Recording Connection, D-Day as a side project from Randy, Hold On, and a new trap song I'm thinking of calling "Crumble". I'm not sure yet though. I'm also working to get my last song heard by someone who might promote it. There's alot on my plate but I'm enjoying it!
