This week, in the theme of tracking, I got to help set up a couple different drum sessions in Studio A, one of which also included piano, bass, guitar, synths and a vocalist, all to be tracked simultaneously. For that more-populated session, considerations were made in the main room while setting up the drum kit, gobos, and d.i. station to ensure adequate line of sight between the musicians in and out of iso booths and the engineer. The input list for said session was about two pages long. This was good practice.
