This chapter was on a topic I'm pretty familiar with, MIDI. Pro Tools certaintly doesn't have the best midi editing tools out there, but they get the job done.I had a really interesting conversation with Tim about MIDI. He mostly viewed it as a good way to throw together demos and create a rough version of a song, a way to map out your thoughts. I have been able to see this in action by participating in him making demos for his album.
It was a pretty quiet week for studio hours. I sat in on a session friday, but it was mostly one on one between the artist and Maddy, so I wasn't of much use. It's still always a good experience to just be around the creation of music. You pick up a lot about the thought process of composing and artistic choices.
