Day 1 with Zack Phillips

It was a pretty basic day. We basicly got to know each other a little bit and then reviewed the chapter.

He took me around the studio and showed me examples of where, why, and how sound reacts to different spaces.

I had already learned a little bit before from previous schooling, but to get it first hand and with examples in person, was far more helpful.

I had never thought to much about the space my instrument or sound would be in. I mean I figured little cloests for guitars, closests for vocals, drums I knew absolutely nothing about.

I had just assumed, you buy good mics, you get good sound. For the most part anyway.

It was a very dense first day, a lot of sciencey stuff. But I can tell I am going to enjoy this and the way Zack teaches.
