This week I had the opportunity to record the band "Bowling for Soup". I recorded vocals, guitar, and bass with the lead singer Jarrett Reddick and the producer. I am getting really quick at tracking in Pro Tools utilizing the quick keys to make the session move more fluently. We recorded the vocals through the u87 and the electric guitar through the Marshal with a Sm57. We recorded the bass through the Ampeg with a Sm57 and we recorded it DI.I was able to recorded them on their last day so I got to be a part of the finishing touches and Vocal recording. They left very happy with how I performed. I also recorded vocals on another session for Republic records. The artist was a guy named Sam. It was a late night session and we recorded two Pop/Hip Hop songs. For this session I used the Sound Deluxe condensor mic which I am actually starting to like more than the U87. They were stoked on the session and loved how I was able to fly all the hooks so fast. I also did a lot of practicing this week with Melodyne and Beat Detective and feel more confident with those programs.
