This week I went through the history of digital recorders. In the 1980s, in order to record sound, you would need a digital audio tape. It's a machine that has similar abilities as an interface except the sound would be recorded into the tape instead of the computer screen. Some artists still have tapes from that era & it could only be transferred through a digital audio tape.
