Week 9 - Harmony Posted on 2018-02-17 by Kyle Ellis

This week's lesson was about harmony, which was great to read and refresh my memory on the subject. As I'm starting to produce more and more, I'm realizing how much my mind is naturally oriented to melody/harmony over percussion. Hopefully that will be my strength to produce unique sounding tracks within the genres I produce.

With Blood Moon and my other chillstep song New Ocean released, I've launched my instragram and soundcloud pages, which I'm slowly gaining more followers and traffic to the pages. In addition, I'm working on my first drum and bass (dnb) track, which is really coming together. Yes, it is a more chill/melodic drum and bass track as the focus of the track is on the melodies, counter melodies, and harmonies, but I think it is sounding unique and is not your typical drum and bass song, which could appeal to more people.

Starting this Thursday, I will be attending open mic nights to meet local artists to extend my music network in the LA area. My goal is to meet someone who is interested in putting vocals on the dnb track and to meet artists to feature on future tracks.
