building the brand Posted on 2014-03-20 by Mark Baar

I rather talk about how I use this program. My mentor is Michael Vail Blum. And really you don't get more infromation on how things work the way they do from siganl and wave to compression and borads, hardware, software and the studio in general. Having said that. What the gravey I am getting is how to make this pay. Really at the end of the day this is about making records, and then more importatly selling those recrods if you want to own what you make. So this week I built a brand lisceneced it, set up the biz, payed the bills, wrote the checks and rganized the company so I can get paid to do whta I love while I work to make what I love to do easier, better understood and so in the end I can actaully call my self a engineer. So pay attention to the learning of the craft, but make sure you work to have a craft of well made goods to sell when it is all said and done. There are a lot of talented people doing the same thing everyday who will never get paid. I take all the energy and excitiment I get from learning and apply that to making hard choices and smart ones that lead me to a funding stream that lets me do what I want. So thanks MVB for everything and I can't wait for more.
