This section was very interesting. I learned a lot about planning for a tracking session and choosing the appropriate mics. I assisted recording a band the Blue Jays. We set up microphones on the drums and guitar cab. We got the tones we wanted and changed microphones placements little bits. The snare drum mic had to be moved further away. And the guitar cab had to be moved outside the booth for more volume and space. We tracked and did overdubs with lead guitar. The band guys were cool and easy to work with. Me and the drummer had cool conversations about drum recordings.
