Where to start with time based effect.. this chapter really opened my eyes to the fact that there is much more to each song then meets the eye. I supposse you can say that about most of these chapters, but this one in particular I never realized how you can beef up a track so much by adding a second track thats slightly delayed. Now I see how an engineer can take a vocal track and really add depth to a singers voice. I went in and sat in on a session with a rapper named Buggin who was very animated on the mic. This was my first rap session I've sat in on and being that its the genre of music I plan on making it was cool to them layer vocal tracks on a beat and puttung the adlibs in at the same time. Buggin in particular had his own ways of getting comfortable and Josh did whatever possible to help him get in his "zone" so to speak. There is no room for judgement and Josh told me that I to be a good engineer you have to be open minded to everybodies creative process because we all have different ways of expressing our creativity.
