Well I feel like this chapter was a review in some ways. A lot of the imformation on acoustics I felt I learned at the beginining of this course but when It came to monitering i did find it useful. Im in the process of creating my own home studio (slowly) and Its helping me understand the type of set up i need to mix and engineer music. While in the studio for my lesson my mentor took me around and showed me all the different types of acoustics in the studio and gave me some tips on how to even make some make shift acoustics for the time being. I've been working on recording my own vocals at home and I now realize how much sound is really bouncing off the walls and I have nothing to deaden the sound in my room. I didn't notice this before.... Josh suggested that I make some sound absorbers myself at this point instead of investing money in already made ones because the cost will be a lot less significant and I plan on following his advice on that. I'd like to be able to mix record and do everything in my room at home so overall I found this chapter helpful.
