Chapter 3 - Digital Audio Recording Blog Post Posted on 2016-12-31 by Hunter White

When studying this chapter I learned about all the intricant details that goes into digital audio recording, also known as my future career. Memory and storage has to be avaliable when you are going to record digital audio soundwaves on a computer. When working with such large files, you also need a lot of bandwidth to work with as well. Samplers and sequencers are the first digital audio devices used for recording music. Samplers work by storing recorded sounds while sequencers were used to record the events that triggered the samples. Digital synthesizers are also another type of recording device used to generate sounds. I also learned that there is different types of audio formats, such as an MP3 or WAV. This chapter also went into detail about compressed and noncompressed formats.

This chapter taught me how complicated digital recording truly is but it made me excited for what all I have to learn.
