Up until this point we have been learning to crawl...it's nice to now be learning to run. I would first like to say that I like how they are breaking the mix down into pieces, instead of throwing all of the components into one setting. Setting up the session, dynamics, and panning are a great way to start. This is WAY different than I have approached my mixes in the past, and I must say it blows me away at how a simple change like this can make all the difference. Just fixing and adjusting the volumes makes a big difference in how the tune is sounding...without touching a single EQ or Compressor. It is so fulfilling to be driving the proverbial "mixing mobile" and actually be taking baby-steps to learning how to mix on my own!
