July 2, 2015 Sebastian invited me in for a session. He was working with two artists one lady who recently moved from California she played the viola and violin. She does work at the Eastman hall in Rochester NY. A guy who plays the Double bass. He an music teacher for a local High School in the Rochester area. My mentor had them play over a song that was previously recorded and the started recording over a track that was put together just needed more funk. They were there for about one hour an received a check for their services. The first time I seen a business transaction in the studio. After the session Sebastian and I went over chapter 5, learning about microphones. The ribbon, condenser, and dynamic is the most common used microphones. When is the proper time to use a certain microphone. Each microphone has its own signal to noise ratio. A microphone transudes energy, turns acoustic to an electric current. Condenser is the most sensitive. The first microphone was called the liquid transmitter. Very interesting and now when I watch TV or see a microphone being used I'm quick to point the type and name.
