Today I went in for another session, Sebastian was working with an artist that plays the guitar. He wanted to come in and record a few songs the had written. I want to say maybe three or four songs. The artist was difficult to work with either he didn't know how or he wasn't quite understanding when Sebastian was telling him his guitar was our of tune. Artist refuse to fix the problem, after Sebastian pointed it out to me I understood what he was saying. The guitar was humming after each note. Now I see as an audio engineer and music producer you must have prior knowledge to instruments or should take a course because it is a key factor when engineering music because you need to know how crisps an instrument should sound and certain microphones have to be used to capture the best sound. I loved the artist concept and his sound was original but he was not focus. I could tell he was under the influence because he had to repeat to many of the same lines, lots of dullness. His positioning was bad you can hear when go to far from the microphone and to close to the microphone. The artist was complaining about his throat drying up and couldn't sing. Then eventually he claimed a writers block and couldn't finish. If you come to an studio session please never try to do your job under the influence whether you are paying or not its rude and you not giving your best quality as you would want in return.
After the session I rolled up the cords and Sebastian put up the mics. Then we talked about session I will be attending tomorrow morning. Overall I enjoyed myself as usual and took lots of notes.
