Chapter 6 Posted on 2014-06-04 by Rinze Van Dellen

Hey guys,

This week was awesome. I had a very nice talk with my teacher and mentor (nr.2) Arnold. We discussed about microphone placement alot. I had alot of questions because I already did alot of recordings, for example Drums, Vocals, Guitar or Saxophone, and I really wanted to know everything he knows. I was wondering if I did it right or wrong. It is a very interesting Chapter.

On Saturday 5/31/2014 I called an other Student I met at the Studio and he told me he's going to a Session on Sunday. I instantly called my Mentor Steve Kennedy to ask if i could join them. He agreed so I went to the Studio at 10am on Sunday. As I arrived there I was very confused because Steve was the only person there. We started setting up for the recording session. Boom-mic-stand, Neumann U87, 4 Headphones for a vocal session with a teenage girl group. He told me I am going to be the only student today. I was very lucky because when the client arrived I had the chance to ask if i could stay. He agreed so I stayed the whole session. It was about 8 hours. I really enjoyed the time at the Studio and I hope I will get the chance again soon!

I started pretty late on learning chapter 7. So I have to work hard today! See you next time.

Stay tuned!
