Blog Post #10

Greeting all! It’s me!

Listened to any good music lately? Because I have!

I came across a band that I cannot get enough of called Deap Vally (yes I know it’s spelled incorrectly).

This band formed when guitar and vocalist Lindsey Troy and Drummer vocalist Julie Edwards met in a crochet class in Los Angles, CA. Their first album Sistrionix was released in June of 2013 and have been touring with the likes of Iggy Pop, Dinosaur Jr., Muse, Wolfmother and event the Chili Peppers, in both the  U.S and the U.K.

Wikipedia Describes them as “a scuzzy White-Stripes meets Led Zeppelin rock n roll duo.” I think you should listen for yourself though!

They released their second album “Femejism” this past September (2016) and I have been listening nonstop!

I absolutely love the songwriting and shear honesty of the lyrics, matched with the nasty, gritty, guitar riffs. Both albums make me very excited for the people their music will influence to continue pushing for social equality/change/respect through music.

So go ahead, Look them up on the YouTube and see for yourself! I would be interested to hear which of their songs you find the most interesting!

So long for now!

Peace.
