For my 3rd week here at Factory Underground, I learned about microphones and microphone placement. I was taught the difference between dynamic microphones and ribbon microphones and all the types of microphones used in the music bussiness. After learning how the microphones work and which ones to use for each project, I learned how to place certain microphones to get the best quality out of my recordings. Learning how to set up microphones for a drum set really interersted me since I'm a drummer myself. I had no clue the different sounds you could get off of each drum just by slightly angeling or moving the microphone around the drum heads.
