Mike KishPittsburgh Recording Connection

Major: Music Production and Recording

My name is Mike Kish. I'm 21 and recently dedicated my time and effort into music. I've spent a few years trying to find out what I want to do with my life, like many of us do, and it took some trial and error, but here I am ready to follow through on what I want to do.

I had a few failed attempts at finding my place after High School..I enlisted in the Navy but was medically discharged less than a year later. That still gave me useful traits to apply to music like paying attention to details when being spoken to, doing things quickly and effeciently with a time limit, and showing respect for people above me. I still apply these values every day, especially with music. When you're recording, you need to pay particular attention to the musicians and the sound they want to achieve..and it goes without saying, we don't always have all the time in the world when recording, so keeping a cool head and getting the task done is important.

After that, I dipped my toes into the criminal justice field, and quickly realized I was pretty much wasting my time. There was no joy or passion with that career choice. I didn't want to just settle for a job just to have a paycheck if it meant I was going to be miserable..in my search to find out where I'd fit in, I found Recording Connection.

As soon as I saw the site, I was hooked. My buddy had pro tools which I've dabbled with before I heard about the school, but just merely finding out about it made me want to dive much, much deeper into it. I'm not currently enrolled (under a great mentor I might add, not to be a kiss ass) and nothing gives me that feeling like putting a terrific piece of music together, weather you were the musician or the man recording it.

We all know that feeling that music gives us hearing a finished product and that's what I'm here for. I want to have that feeling for as long as I'm around. Nothing compares to it. My life consists of music now and I plan on recording any musician I can to get them the sound that they want. Rock, Metal, Rap, I'm up for the challenge and to make beyond satisfactory recordings. Though I'm still fairly new to this scene, I'm ready to apply myself to the fullest, and hopefully, if you're reading this, you could be one of my witnesses to that sometime.
