Lesson 9 Posted on 2013-12-17 by Tyler McGuire

This lesson was rather fun too. Not only because i enjoyed learning about protools in the previous lesson, but because stan and i mixed and worked on a song that i had recorded for my band. The day started with the lesson, which was basically just a continuance of the previous lesson, because the were both about protools. after we talked about my quiz for about an hour, we opened up my session for the song i had recorded. He had several suggestions to make. A few examples would be that the toms were out of phase, so we just flipped the phase and already it sounded 100x better! another thing that was wrong was that i was compressing my overhead mics individually and it sounded very sloppy so we sent both tracks to an Aux labled "overhead sub" and then compressed them together so they sounded uniform.
