This past week was an experience that I will never forget. The reason I say that is because I got to go into a studio located in Portland Oregon called Black Diamond Studios. This was the first time I actually got to observe what it's all about when mixing and recording a song. Matt, my mentor, is the head engineer at Black Diamonds. Everything he did looked as though it was a walk in the park for him. He has a lot of experience and not only that but he also likes to put his own creativity into his work which I find inspiring. I sat in a recording session my first day! Local rapper Loot was in the building spitting some bars in the booth. Matt was mastering Loot's tracks and showing me an overview of how it all works. It was very overwhelming but Matt is going to be breaking down everything as we go through the course. I am very excited to see what I have in store for me, all I can say is that I am ready to work hard and give it my all.
