This past week has been a week where I am starting to familiarize myself with the process of recording and mixing. We had a few clients come in and I have enjoyed watching Matt do his thing and do whatever he can to please the clients requests. I learned bout smaple rate and bit depth and how it's important when creating a session. A standard smaple rate, just as the book has stated, is 44.1 khz at a 24-bit depth. We did a little experiment where we took a mix that was recorded at the normal 44.1 khz at 24-bits and put it in a session that is to be recorded at 192 khz at a 32-bit depth. The results were that the original mix was all squished together to play at a new rate and made the mix end quick and have a some what of a chipmunk voice to it.
