Recently I've stumbled into the microphone and microphone placement lessons in the textbook. These sections have been by far my favorite thus far. I was finally able to use what I learned to apply it to my own music in terms of recording songs. Prince and I met a couple times for this section and both sessions I recorded songs, which to me, is a big deal because I have yet to purchase a mic of my own. Setting up the equipment was interesting as well, especially getting to try out several styles of microphones and really hearing the differences in the tone and shape each mic captured. That knowledge will also help me out in determining the type of microphone I will end up buying. I'm excited to continue on with the upcoming lessons. Next up, pro tools introduction.
