I'm at that point where I basically have the overall knowledge of a recording studio and I am in the process of applying that knowledge to my final/final mix. I love mixing because you can basically change or modify the song based upon your personality or preference. Like, creativity has no bounds when I'm mixing. Ofcourse once I start mixing for artists it will be based upon what they like but I'll still get to be creative with their approval. I want to be one of the go to engineer/producers in the Richmond area. Since there are no standout producers in Richmond VA I want to make that title my own. And that carries me to my future and this stay connected program. I reall hope after this program is over and I start the stay connected program I am able to find steady work and a good foundation for me to build off of. Right now I think it would be amazing to work for Atlantic Records. I love love loooove that record label. I love their artist roster, their diversity, and I personally adore Craig Kallman. Ever since I read his Interview a few years back on how he started his own publishing comapny and was selling copies of artists' tracks that he produced to local stores using a shopping cart and eventually his dad's car was inspiring. He really chased after waht he wanted and never gave up. Soon after success followed and he was able to merge into Atlantic Records. It's success stories like these that inspire me. Ofcourse, things like that don't happen everyday. But what I took out of it is if you really want something, don't give up on it. This is what I want to do. I want to work with passionate artists. I want to go on tour with them. I want to see them succeed. And just knowing that I was able to help them with a single/album/mixtape that transpired into fame or a spot on the charts is the sweetest reward I could get. I just hope I'm sucessful.
